AND WELCOME BACK TO ANOTHER EPISODE OF THE MINDMILL PODCAST. I have to say, it’s so fulfilling to be back on the show. It feels like a fresh start. And mostly, I love sharing these topics and guests with you. I relish open discussions and connections with fascinating people. And on that note, please send me feedback about what topics you would like to hear discussed on the show, who you would like me to chat with. ADDRESSING THE SOCIAL DILEMMA WITH OPEN DISCUSSION. I just recently watched the Social Dilemma documentary. We are surrendering our uniqueness and free-will for click bate and fleeting dopamine hits. As much as it feels like we are destined to continue down this path of distraction and divide, I also found some silver linings. The film highlights that we are losing the ability to have open discussion with each other. Seeing how that is the foundation of this show, I feel empowered to continue producing the Mindmill. I love being back, healthy, and presenting this new episode with Drew to you today. AFTER OUR INTERVIEW, WE RECORDED A SHORT HYPNOSIS SESSION TOGETHER. I included the session at the end of the show, so stick around! I’ve witnessed Drew grow in incredible ways in the years we’ve known each other. I’m so grateful for Drew, and am happy to share this conversation with him on the Mindmill. Enjoy! It feels so good to be healthy again, reunited with my friends and family, and to be back on the mic to share my first podcast episode in over a year! FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO WEREN’T AWARE, IN AUGUST 2019 I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH HODGKIN’S LYMPHOMA. It’s amazing how quickly life gets turned upside down. On Saturday I hosted a pool party. Sunday I went out to dinner to celebrate a birthday. Monday I went to the hospital with stomach pains. And by the end of that week, I had been diagnosed and my mom had flown out to take care of me in the hospital. Thus started a journey of tests, scans, scopes, meds, infusions, fear, pain, depression, loneliness, slow recovery, and eventually a connection to loved ones and an appreciation of life I never knew possible. I will never be able to verbalize it all. Just know that my heart is full of gratitude for all of you who donated, prayed, sent gifts, visited, called, wrote songs, and supported me and my family through this chapter. I will never be able to verbalize it all. Just know that my heart is full of gratitude for all of you who donated, prayed, sent gifts, visited, called, wrote songs, and supported me and my family through this chapter. REBUILDING NORMAL IN CONNECTION WITH NATURE SINCE MY RETURN HOME FROM THE MAYO CLINIC IN MARCH, I HAVE BEEN CONTINUING MEDICAL TREATMENTS, REBUILDING MY BODY, AND READJUSTING TO “NORMAL” LIFE, WHATEVER THE HELL THAT IS. My good friend and former mindmill guest Joshua Greenfield (Yoshua) has been a pillar of support for me through my sickness. He has also been through a massively transitional year himself. We got together outside of Boulder Colorado for a barefoot hike and a nature inspired conversation. I wanted my return to the Mindmill to be an open dialogue with a close friend. And so in this episode, we discuss each other’s journeys, how we are both adapting to a COVID lifestyle, finding yourself through nature, and the future of the Mindmill and Yashua’s movement “You Enjoy Life”. I encourage you to go back and listen to Yoshua’s previous mindmill episode. But for now I hope you enjoy the return of the mindmill podcast. Early in 2019, the MindMill teamed up with an event to promote the understanding, impact, dissection, and mastering of our personal habits. The summit, Habit Hackers [https://habithackers.co], was a massive success; bringing hundreds together to learn from top performers, entrepreneurs, Super Bowl champions, and elite coaches. The day-long summit was packed with presentations and workshops to aide in mastering routines that shape our lives. I had the pleasure of interviewing the creator, David Blutenthal [https://themindmill.com/david-blutenthal/] on the podcast to discuss his inspiration for habit hackers. We also dove into our own trials and tribulations surrounding our personal habits. Great episode, be sure to go back and give it a listen or refresher. David is expanding Habit Hackers this year with a series of mini-workshops before the next big summit in early 2020. These workshops will give people hands-on opportunities to tackle their habits in different areas of life with accountability and social support. Whether you desire to transform your personal finance habits, create a more effective communication, or build new structures for your health and fitness, you’ll find something to take on with these workshops. You can find more information about all things Habit Hackers at https://habithackers.co [https://habithackers.co]. Ryan Harris on The MindMill Podcast [https://themindmill.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Ryan-Harris-Headshot-2smaller.jpg]Ryan Harris on The MindMill PodcastThis episode absolutely flew by, and I’m so excited to share it with you. Today we are with Super Bowl Champion, talk show host, author, and motivational speaker Ryan harris. Ryan is a retired NFL offensive lineman who protected Peyton Manning during the Denver Broncos most recent championship season. After retiring from professional football, Ryan shifted his focus to public speaking and sharing the lessons he learned from decades of elite athletics. Ryan completely embodies his positivity and excitement for life. From the beginning of our interview, we couldn’t help but laugh and joke around. I don’t get too many chances to talk about football on the show, so I took the opportunity to hear from an absolute expert. After some obligatory college football trash talk, Ryan opened up about how his attitude and dedication to incremental improvements led to his longevity as a top competitor. We then move the conversation to his routines for success post NFL. Ryan has learned so much as a family man and businessman. He opens up about the daily habits that keep him at his best; as a father, a husband, and as a public speaker. Ryan Harris on The MindMill Podcast [https://themindmill.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/kissing-the-trophy.jpg]Ryan Harris on The MindMill PodcastI gotta put it out there. I was only one of the multiple interviews Ryan gave this day. He got his names mixed up, and called me “Terry” towards the end of our conversation. haha while slightly embarrassing for both of us, the quality of our interview more than made up for it. I mentioned it after we wrapped up, and got him back on the air to smooth it out. Oh the lessons we learn as podcasters. I loved this interview, and am so excited to share “Terry” I mean Ryan Harris’ story on the MindMill podcast. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=782T0i7AE2o&feature=youtu.be CONTACT RYAN HARRIS ryanharris68.com [http://ryanharris68.com/] Ryan’s Newest Book – Mindset for Mastery: An NFL Champion’s Guide to Reaching Your Greatness [https://www.amazon.com/Mindset-Mastery-Champions-Reaching-Greatness-ebook/dp/B07JB8P7QB] BIO > Super Bowl 50 Champion Ryan Harris is a 10 year veteran of the NFL. Ryan was drafted by the Denver Broncos in 2007 as an offensive tackle. Ryan left Denver for a few years and continued his career with the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs. He then came back to Denver and played left tackle in the Broncos’ Super Bowl 50 Championship year. Most recently Ryan was with the Pittsburgh Steelers before retiring at the end of the 2016 season. Ryan played college football at the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated with two degrees, one in Economics and Policy and the other in Political Science. Ryan is a practicing Muslim, from Minnesota, and currently resides with his family in Denver, CO. Off the field, Ryan believes that together we can change the world. He believes that “It is your right to be extraordinary.” That when we embrace that right, we create positive change in the world. Eben is a fascinating human, and I absolutely loved hearing about the systems and routines he has curated for his optimal life. We kick off todays episode with a discussion about the Burning Man festival; how it changed his life, how it inspires him every year, and why he believes it is a glimpse into the future of human civilization.  We then dive into his daily routines, and how he maximizes his day for productivity, connection, learning, and joy.  Eben is constantly trialing new ways to improve upon his routines, including calculated breaktimes, the best body state for reading, and the perfect superfood smoothie.  All this, and much much more with Eben Pagan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwqxiREmm4w&feature=youtu.be CONTACT EBEN PAGAN Eben Pagan Training Website Eben’s Newest Book – Opportunity: How to Win in Business and Create a Life You Love [https://www.amazon.com/Opportunity-Business-Create-Life-Love/dp/1401957099/ref=sr_1_1?gclid=Cj0KCQjwsvrpBRCsARIsAKBR_0JVmwBbCj1JRJnOIydAcJEbIf2RDbj9CKAhVaOlbT-622Rt8UCIBUsaAs0yEALw_wcB&hvadid=241929675359&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9028786&hvnetw=g&hvpos=1t1&hvqmt=b&hvrand=87271843646468566&hvtargid=kwd-1183572766&hydadcr=24665_10401006&keywords=eben+pagan&qid=1564440023&s=gateway&sr=8-1] BIO > Hello! I’m Eben Pagan. > I got my start in business over 10 years ago after my best friend showed me how successful he was selling information products online.  I can still remember locking myself in my bedroom for three straight weeks to write my first ebook.  When I finally finished writing the book, I put it online and went to bed.I woke up the next morning and couldn’t believe what I saw… > I had my first sale. It was only one sale, but more sales came in over the next few days and that’s when I knew I was on to something…I kept growing my company and after a few years, my little ebook quickly turned into a multi-million dollar a year virtual business employing 75 people around the world. That’s when I started getting emails from people asking me for business and marketing advice to teach them how to be successful starting and launching their own businesses using my techniques and formulas.  I’ve been very fortunate to work with some amazing people like Tony Robbins and Sir Richard Branson.  I’ve devoted several years of my life to create trainings that teach entrepreneurs all my best strategies and techniques for business, marketing and wealth creation and you can find it all here at Eben Pagan Training.
