Episode 74: The Audit Your Team Runs on You Every Day

This week's Play: Ask what your team says when you leave the room. Your team is reading you more accurately than you are reading yourself. In this episode of A Student of Leadership, Robert Adams shares what happened during the first month of his Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coaching certification in 2018, when he asked his own team for the first time what they would suggest he do differently. The picture they were holding of his leadership was significantly more accurate than the picture he had been carrying of himself, and the work of closing that gap began in that month. The team has a vantage point on your leadership that you do not have. The gap between their picture and yours is, in most cases, the most important blind spot of your career. Episode 73: Hard Conversations Are the Work AI Cannot Do for You

Episode 70: The Refill Discipline

This week's Play: Schedule thirty minutes with the person who refills you. The leader who has nothing left to give already stopped leading. In this episode of A Student of Leadership, Robert Adams returns to The Spoon, the fifth element of the Place Setting Framework, with the question almost no one is asking.
