Adam's Daily Bread
This is part of a year long reading of the Bible chronologically in a harmonized format. Psalms 81:1-16 - Call to sing for joy to God and celebrate the festival while remembering deliverance from Egypt. - God laments Israel's disobedience and longs to bless them if only they would listen. Psalms 88:1-18 - The psalmist cries out desperately to God day and night amid overwhelming affliction. - He feels abandoned by God and friends, near death, with darkness as his only companion. Psalms 92:1 - 93:5 - Psalm 92 praises God's steadfast love, faithfulness, and victory over the wicked. - Psalm 93 declares the Lord's eternal reign and majestic power over creation. Luke 23:13-25 - Pilate declares Jesus innocent three times yet yields to the crowd's demands. - He releases Barabbas and hands Jesus over to be crucified to satisfy the people. John 18:39 - 19:16 - Pilate offers to release Jesus per custom but the crowd chooses Barabbas and demands crucifixion. - Pilate has Jesus flogged and presented; the Jews insist on his death for claiming kingship, leading Pilate to hand him over.
