Adam's Daily Bread
This is part of a year long reading of the Bible chronologically in a harmonized format. Psalms 25:1-22 - The psalmist lifts his soul to God in trust, asking for guidance and deliverance from enemies. - He pleads for forgiveness of sins and protection while affirming hope in the Lord. Psalms 29:1-11 - All heavenly beings are called to ascribe glory and strength to the Lord. - The voice of the Lord thunders over waters and breaks cedars, yet gives strength and peace to His people. Psalms 33:1-22 - The righteous are urged to sing joyfully to the Lord as His word is upright and faithful. - God watches over those who fear Him and delivers them while frustrating the plans of nations. Psalms 36:1-12 - The wicked have no fear of God yet God's steadfast love and righteousness extend to the heavens. - The psalmist prays for continued lovingkindness to the upright and protection from the wicked. Psalms 39:1-13 - The psalmist vows silence before the wicked but bursts out in anguish over life's brevity. - He asks God to know his days and deliver him from transgressions amid fleeting human existence. Acts 1:1 - 2:13 - Luke recounts Jesus' final instructions, ascension, and the apostles' choice of Matthias to replace Judas. - On Pentecost the Holy Spirit descends with wind and fire, enabling them to speak in other tongues as crowds hear in their languages.
