All My Friends Are Thots

We’re also taking our much-discussed recording on emotional labor out of the vault. “remember when "emotional labor" meant "people in shitty jobs who are forced to perform certain emotions to do their job"? but then we were all like "idk, it kinda sucks when i have to listen to my boyfriend” The tweet that set it off, by Ashley Ray (@arayyay). We noticed a huge rise in the use of “emotional labor” last year. Why did it seem to strike such a nerve, and how do we draw the line between emotional labor and just being there for someone as a friend/ partner? We talk through what we consider emotional labor and when we have performed it.
