We share everything from packing up our entire lives during France’s worst heat wave in 70 years, to the chaos of traveling internationally with nearly four-year-old twins and 16 pieces of luggage, to making one last unforgettable stop in London before officially starting this next chapter. It was exhausting, emotional, and at times completely ridiculous, but it’s a journey we know we’ll never forget. We also reflect on what it felt like to leave behind the country that shaped us so deeply over the last three years. France challenged us in every possible way, but it also gave us lifelong friendships, incredible memories, a stronger family, and the confidence that comes from doing hard things. As bittersweet as it was to say goodbye, arriving in California felt surprisingly aligned. We talk about why this move feels right for our family, our work, and this new season of life, while celebrating everything our time abroad gave us. Our Biggest Update Yet!!!

In this episode of Away We Go We Go, we’re sharing our biggest update yet—and it’s a big one. We officially launched Sophie’s new tech company, built to support women through postpartum and early motherhood, and we’re also preparing for another major life shift: moving from Aix-en-Provence to San Diego this summer. We walk through how quickly this decision came together, why now felt like the right time, and what it’s been like building something so meaningful behind the scenes while navigating life abroad with two young kids. We also open up about the deeply personal journey that led to this moment. Sophie shares her experience with a difficult postpartum period following Luca’s birth, the emotional toll it took, and how that season ultimately sparked the vision for her company. From hitting a breaking point to slowly rebuilding and finding clarity, this chapter of our lives has shaped not only who we are, but what we feel called to create and contribute moving forward.
