Pushing Daisies 1.4: Pigeon
A lot happens in this week's episode, and not in a bad weird. The show is really leaning into its quirkiness, and that makes it feel right. We get more singing, this time a duet with Kristin Chenoweth and Ellen Green. We get a brief understanding between Chuck and Olive. And we finally get some real stakes between Chuck and the Pie Maker, though we're both still not that jazzed about the relationship. It's cute, but cute can only carry it so far. It's going to need something else if the show wants to keep us interested.
Pushing Daisies 1.3: The Fun in Funeral
This week's episode was an odd one. It feels like the second part of a two-part pilot, but it aired as episode 3. Still, it was a great departure from all of the issues of last week's episode. Questions are answered, characters are developed, future storylines are set up. All in all, it was a pretty good episode.
Pushing Daisies 1.2: Dummy
We're in the trenches now. Not only do none of the questions we had get answered in this episode, we end up with more questions than before. Like why does the Pie Maker go out of his way to explain multiple times that it's VERY DANGEROUS for him and Chuck to touch, only for them to spend most of the episode seemingly only an inch apart? Or why does the Pie Maker make such a big deal about Chuck needing to be in disguise only for her to spend half the episode not in disguise? And we are returning to one of our biggest issues we've seen with other shows in the past, timing. But at least we got to see Kristin Chenoweth sing.

Pushing Daisies 1.1: Pie-lette
So far, we're off to a fairly strong (and very strange) start. This Pie-lette has a lot of quirk, but it also has a lot of questions, which we hope will get answered in a satisfaying way. And it has Jim Dale, so that's a plus. We're holding off most of our judgement until future episodes, but for now, we're excited.
