Thyatira: The Licentious Church (Revelation 2:18-29)

This letter is the longest of the seven, written to the church in the smallest town. Central to the problems of this church was a false teacher, a seductive woman, labelled 'Jezebel' by Christ. Like Pergamos, this church was under threat of being destroyed from within.This sermon examines Christ's letter to Thyatira under 5 headings.

Pergamos: The Lax Church (Revelation 2:12-17)

Pergamos faced two significant threats. There was the threat without with the persecution coming from the Roman Empire but there was also the threat from within with false doctrine making inroads. This letter makes it clear that Pergamos was in far greater danger from the threat within than the threat from without. A powerful challenge concerning the need for the church to adopt Christ's attitude to the truth.

Smyrna: The Lacerated Church (Revelation 2:8-11)

Exposition of Christ's letter to Smyrna, the suffering church. Christ has no word of rebuke for this model church. Some encouraging and challenging lessons for believers going through trials and tests.

Ephesus: The Loveless Church (Revelation 2:1-7)
