Beholding Bible Truth
Our summer series for 2026, starts by focusing on the greatness of God, using Isaiah chapter 40 as the foundational text. Scott discusses the human tendency to focus on personal anxieties and the challenges of perspective, emphasizing the importance of shifting our focal point from ourselves to God. Drawing from the illustration of the Grand Canyon, he explores how viewing life from a grander perspective puts personal struggles into context. Through a mix of teaching, scripture reading, and reflection on contemporary culture, the episode unpacks how worship and understanding of God can be limited by small views of God or overly inflated views of ourselves, highlighting a lesson from Pastor Alistair Begg. Noting examples from history and current events, the discussion points to the dangers of reducing God to a manageable size according to personal preferences, advocating instead for recognition of God's immeasurable greatness and sufficiency.
