Beware the Day with Ryan O. Adams
On today's episode of Beware the Day: The Civil Rights and Black Power movements of the 1960s and 1970s resulted in federal policies that allowed African Americans to obtain better paying jobs, but not without considerable struggle and frequent reversals. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission was created to eliminate discrimination in the workplace, promote equal employment programs, and oversee compliance with federal law.
