He is a gifted broadcaster and quickly began an upward path in radio sports right out of college in one of America's top markets.  Major play-by-play opportunities would come his way, along with becoming the voice of his alma mater, the University of North Texas Mean Green.  Dave Barnett takes us on a journey of hurdles, rewards, and inspiration in this episode. He became the youngest announcer in the NBA at age 23 when he joined the Dallas Mavericks in the early 1980s. He earned at Radio/TV/Film degree at the University of North Texas (1979) and a Masters in Journalism in 2019.  He is currently an Adjunct Professor in the UNT Mayborn School of Journalism and has taught Critical Thinking, Writing, Digital Journalism, Teaching Writing, Social Media Communications, Classroom Management, Interpersonal Skills, Academic Writing, Presentations, Curriculum Development, Digital Media, Proofreading, and Presentation Skills.
