Energy Minister Says Ardnacrusha "Still A Very Important Part" Of Energy Network
The Energy Minister is hailing the contribution of Ardnacrusha Power Station to Ireland's economy and says it's still a "very important part" of the energy network. Fianna Fáil Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment Darragh O'Brien is at the south-east Clare facility today for the 'Electrifying Ireland: A Shared Vision for the Future' conference. Ardnacrusha was Ireland's first hydroelectric station and remains its largest river hydro scheme. Minister O'Brien has been telling Clare FM's Seán Lyons it's a success story that can be learned from as the country moves towards renewables.
Between Land And Sea - Art Exhibition By Helen Martin At Clare Museum
The beauty of Clare's landscapes and coastline is the inspiration behind a new exhibition currently on display at Clare Museum. Between Land and Sea is the latest collection from acclaimed visual artist Helen Martin, whose vibrant oil paintings capture the county's natural beauty through striking depictions of its landscapes, seascapes, flora and fauna. Aistear Celebrates Siansa Win
Two of Clare's brightest young traditional musicians are celebrating after a landmark year for his group, Aistear. The eight-piece ensemble, made up of musicians from Clare, Galway and Tipperary, claimed the prestigious Craobh Siansa Gael Linn title earlier this year, before recently coming together in Ennis for a special night of music and celebration with family, friends and fellow musicians. Launch Of Competition To Find Ireland’s Best Public Loo
They say you can tell a lot about a business by the state of its toilets, and now one company is putting that theory to the test. Drainage specialists Dyno-Rod have relaunched their SuperLoo competition, a nationwide search to find Ireland's best publicly accessible toilet. Businesses from cafés and hotels to libraries, offices and garages are being invited to enter, with the winner taking the title of Ireland's top loo.
