Foundations of the Trinity: God is One

We are exploring the three key Biblical foundations that undergird our doctrine of the Trinity. Today, we consider the first foundation: monotheism. Scripture declares that there is only one God. There is one divine being, substance or essence.

God's Eternal Glory

We conclude our studies in Jude's epistle with a reflection on the eternality of God. God is who he is, "before all time, and now and forever."

We continue walking through the "Golden Verse", John 3:16, and consider the Deity of the only begotten Son of God.

Giving Reason to Rejoice

Writing to Philemon, the Apostle Paul speaks of finding great joy and consolation in Philemon's love for the saints. Do our lives, like Philemon's, give our brothers and sisters cause to rejoice and give thanks to the Lord, seeing the grace of God at work in us?

Joy in the Presence of God

Jude addresses his doxology to him who is able to present us before the presence of his glory with great joy. So, in this sermon we consider the Biblical promise that the saints will one day see God, beholding his glory with fullness of joy. And yet, Scripture also testifies that beholding God's glory is not joy for sinners, but terror and destruction. So, how can any of us behold God's glory with joy, instead of terror?
