What happens when you lose your job mid-career? What is hustle culture and why is it bad for your mental health? Why do people put so much emphasis on what your job is? Why do we try and take our self worth from our employer? In today’s episode, we answer these questions and more. My special guest, Laura, and I talk about what happened when we both lost our jobs mid-career (one by choice and one not by choice). Our mental health tanked. We cried. We despaired. But, like every low in life, we always come back up stronger and fighting. Join us as we talk about our own experiences with job loss and navigating all the complexities around your occupation and your self worth. Podcaster’s note: This was recorded in June 2025. We are both employed now! Yay!
You Are Not Alone
On this podcast episode, my friend Yvette and I talk about her brother’s struggle with mental health. In January of 2025, he succumbed to his diagnosis and died by suicide. It’s time to get real with conversations surrounding mental health WITHOUT SHAME! We will discuss the “stigma” behind mental illness, depression, and suicide. We will also offer hope and ways you can help walk alongside and support someone you love suffering! Remember you are LOVED and your story isn’t over! I Am Not OK
Daylight is a space dedicated to bringing light into the parts of mental health we’re often afraid to talk about. A space that reminds people they are seen, heard, and never alone. In this episode, together with our special guest Lee Black of Antilles Digital Media, we share a vulnerable conversation around addiction, healing, and breaking the stigma that keeps so many people suffering silently.
Homecoming Queen?
In this episode, my special guest, Sophie, and I will talk about the juxtaposition of what people perceive as your reality versus what actually is happening in your life. The reality is, we really don't know what someone is going through. I think if we talked more openly about what goes on behind closed doors, maybe we wouldn't feel so alone, and just maybe we would heal from some of the things that keep us up at night.
