10 Billion vs 1.7 Billion! What's the Difference?

Good Evening All! I’m trying something tonight. I won’t know if it makes it better unless you let me know. Thanks Dismas (00:00:01): Good evening, everyone. (00:00:03): It’s a Friday evening. (00:00:05): Hope you’re doing well. (00:00:06): This is Dismas, and it’s time for some contemporary issues. (00:00:11): You know, I think I told you the story about contemporary issues and why I picked it. (00:00:16): It was mainly from a teacher in high school. (00:00:19): He’s a professor now. (00:00:21): But we’re not going to get into that because I just remembered I did tell you about it. (00:00:24): And excuse me if I forget sometimes, my age is getting to me, my ADHD. (00:00:30): Numerous other things, whatever it is. (00:00:31): But tonight, this is really getting to me, and I’m not forgetting about it. (00:00:37): As you know, (00:00:38): or maybe you don’t know, (00:00:39): Trump, (00:00:40): our illustrious leader, (00:00:43): I say that sarcastically, (00:00:45): of course, (00:00:46): sued the IRS for $10 billion when there was a leak of his finances. (00:00:54): Now, (00:00:54): if he had just done what every other president did, (00:00:56): which would show his taxes, (00:00:57): it wouldn’t have been an issue. (00:00:58): But he didn’t. (00:01:01): But to top it all off, he filed a lawsuit over two years after the incident happened. (00:01:09): The statute of limitations is two years for one thing. (00:01:13): And now they’re trying to settle the case. (00:01:16): And it was supposed to go in front of a judge May 20th or May 27th. (00:01:22): And I find that, like, they should have rushed it because now they’re negotiating. (00:01:26): And he’s negotiating with his own (00:01:29): Attorney Who Runs The DOJ Which Makes It To Me It’s A Conflict Of Interest But Who (00:01:37): Am I To Say I’m Not A Legal Scholar But Here’s The Thing His Attorney Which Was (00:01:43): Handling His Criminal Cases Is Now The Department Of Justice Attorney General (00:01:49): Acting Attorney General And That’s Who’s Negotiating With Trump (00:01:55): And now there’s a thing on the table, I guess, an offer of $1.7 billion. (00:02:00): And the idea is he’s going to give this to the January 6th rioters, which really got me going. (00:02:09): I don’t understand what this country is doing, (00:02:13): and I don’t understand what the politicians are doing. (00:02:17): Why aren’t the Democrats stepping up to this stuff? (00:02:20): Why isn’t there an ethics (00:02:23): Evaluation of what’s going on. (00:02:25): How can they just get away with giving him $1.7 billion to avoid the court case? (00:02:31): Because if he goes to court, everyone’s saying this judge will throw it out anyways. (00:02:36): So they don’t want it thrown out. (00:02:38): They want to settle it before because then the judge is out of it. (00:02:41): Well, of course they’re going to do it. (00:02:42): They should have had an emergency hearing to catch him off guard. (00:02:47): But she gave him time to hand in their briefs and instead (00:02:51): They’re figuring out a way to get around this whole thing, (00:02:54): including the fact that he won’t get audited anymore. (00:02:57): Him, his kids, his businesses, he’s vying for that also. (00:03:05): I mean, wouldn’t it be great if we could do that? (00:03:07): Hey, I don’t want to be audited anymore. (00:03:09): You know, whatever. (00:03:11): I never want to be audited. (00:03:12): I’ve never been, but I don’t want to be. (00:03:14): And I’d like to, (00:03:15): you know, (00:03:15): get $1.7 billion, (00:03:16): but I’ll forgive that and just take the audit, (00:03:19): the free audits. (00:03:23): Excuse me. (00:03:24): You know, I hate talking politics, but this thing has really got me boiling. (00:03:36): Excuse me. (00:03:38): And I don’t see how there’s nothing being done about it. (00:03:44): And no one can’t fight this. (00:03:49): Because once it happens, it happens. (00:03:51): I don’t know if he can be sued after that to get the money back. (00:03:54): I don’t know what happens. (00:03:56): But I do know or I feel there’s an ethics issue here, (00:04:00): and I don’t understand why the Bar Association isn’t even jumping into this. (00:04:05): Why don’t they just get Todd Blanch and take his license away so that he can’t conduct business? (00:04:16): I don’t understand how, I mean, I’ve dealt with the law before for certain reasons. (00:04:21): And my lawyer and I have gone back and forth. (00:04:25): And there’s been times where other lawyers that were involved in cases had to (00:04:29): recuse themselves because of something else. (00:04:33): I even had a time when the judge had to recuse herself on my hearing. (00:04:39): So, and it was all about ethics. (00:04:43): And this judge wanted me really bad. (00:04:46): But the thing was, (00:04:48): she couldn’t do anything because there was an ethical violation and she didn’t want (00:04:52): to cross that line. (00:04:54): What happened to morality in this country? (00:04:58): What happened to the sense of fairness and fair play? (00:05:01): And you don’t step over the line. (00:05:04): Everyone in this administration, Republicans, are stepping over the line with no (00:05:11): Fear of Retribution No Fear of Governing No Fear of Anything They Just Do What They (00:05:17): Frickin Want And Get Away With It And As I Know We Can Call Senators We Can Call (00:05:24): Representatives We Can Do All This Phone Calling But It Doesn’T Do Any Good If (00:05:28): Those People Are Not Gonna Stand Up Call The Bar Association They Should Have (00:05:33): Stopped This Yesterday Not After We Make A Thousand Phone Calls And Even Then They (00:05:38): Probably Won’T Do Anything (00:05:40): And then the fact is that Trump picked the team that’s going to manage the money. (00:05:45): He has control of the people. (00:05:46): I forgot if it’s five or six people that are going to determine how the money gets (00:05:50): spent or put out. (00:05:52): But he controls that group explicitly. (00:05:55): He has full control. (00:05:56): He can get rid of them, get new people, do whatever he wants. (00:06:00): How are we letting this happen? (00:06:04): How are we letting him paint the reflective pool between (00:06:07): The Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial Blue And just why not leave it alone? (00:06:13): Leave it the way it’s been for centuries Everything is What’s going to happen is If (00:06:21): he gets voted out of office Whoever the next president is And if it’s a Democrat, (00:06:27): hopefully It has to change all this And it’s going to cost us more money to change (00:06:33): it back (00:06:34): We’ll never get the East Wing back. (00:06:36): It’s gonna be this stupid ballroom that we’re paying for. (00:06:40): And it keeps going and going and going. (00:06:44): When is it gonna stop? (00:06:45): When are we gonna make an effort, concerted effort as Americans to stop this? (00:06:51): And when are our politicians gonna do the right thing and step up to the plate and (00:06:56): argue this stuff? (00:06:57): Go on TV, go do whatever you have to do. (00:07:00): Show with the corruption going on. (00:07:04): Stop letting it happen. (00:07:07): Hey, that’s it for today, folks. (00:07:08): I’m sorry. (00:07:09): This evening, I’m wicked up now. (00:07:10): I’ll never get to sleep. (00:07:11): But I wanted to bring this up because it was bugging me. (00:07:15): You guys have a great weekend. (00:07:16): I’ll probably be back next week unless I get bugged again and hit you up over the weekend. (00:07:22): But other than that, have a nice evening. (00:07:23): Talk to you soon.
