In this week's episode, I discuss the math of day trading or individual stock picking over buying and holding index funds, and why those stock pick wins in the short term are surprisingly misleading & don't tell the full story (much like rent vs. buy, where similar issues can occur). At the end of the day, you have to do the math for yourself and compare net gains to the alternatives, and often, in the case of index funds vs. individual stock picking, index funds win in the long run.
