Kuvaus

What does the Bible say about patriotism? Is it wrong for Christians to love their country? Can patriotism become idolatry? These questions come up as we reflect on America's 250th Anniversary. Patriotism is not a problem for Christians, but it becomes one when our loves fall out of order. In 1 Peter 2:17, the Apostle Peter lays out a clear priority: honor everyone, love the brotherhood, fear God, and honor the emperor. Political leaders belong in the same tier as everyone else, not above and not below. Loving your country too much can quietly become idolatry, but loving it too little is also a spiritual problem, because your nation is a gift from God. The goal is not to love your country less, but to love God more and let that love set the order for everything else. When your loves are properly ordered, patriotism becomes a natural and healthy expression of gratitude to God for where He has placed you. A Theology of Time | Numbers 28-29

In this sermon series we walk through the book of Numbers as we see what it means for God to be in the midst of His people. God designed time with a purpose far deeper than schedules and deadlines. The Hebrew word for 'seasons' in Genesis 1:14 is the same word used for the tent of meeting, the place where God's people met with Him. Every sunrise and sunset was built into creation as a recurring reminder that we were made to meet with God. The offerings in Numbers 28 and 29 were structured around the rhythms of time itself, from daily to annual, all pointing to this same truth. We cannot draw near to a holy God on our own terms, because our sin separates us from Him. Jesus, the unblemished Lamb of God, fulfilled everything those offerings pointed to by dying in our place and covering us with His perfect righteousness. Because of what He has done, we are invited to respond with lives of joyful offering through prayer, generosity, and daily worship. Every sunrise is an invitation, and every sunset is a reminder of what we were created to do. Counting God's Promises | Numbers 26

In this sermon series we walk through the book of Numbers as we see what it means for God to be in the midst of His people. Numbers 26 is a census that most people skip over, but it carries four powerful truths about God's faithfulness. Every person counted in Israel's census was a reminder that we belong to God, ransomed not by silver or gold but by the precious blood of Jesus. The census also shows that God's grace does not just forgive broken stories, He redeems them, as seen in the sons of Korah, who rose from the family of a rebel to become some of Israel's greatest worship leaders. Despite 40 years of wilderness wandering and an entire generation dying in failure, the population count barely changed, proving that God's promises outlive human failure. He was not scrambling for a Plan B when Israel rebelled. He was working through every detour to bring His purposes to completion. Ultimately, the Promised Land pointed to something greater: a rest that only Jesus can give, and an eternal inheritance for all who place their faith in Him.
