Hope Church Podcast
Imagine being handed the authority to represent the King of Kings in every conversation, every workplace interaction, every family gathering. This message from Matthew 10 reminds us that we are not just followers of Christ—we are His ambassadors, carrying His authority wherever we go. Just as ancient ambassadors spoke with the full weight of their king behind them, we represent Jesus to a world that desperately needs Him. The disciples received authority to heal, deliver, and proclaim the kingdom, and that same authority extends to us today. But here's the challenge: Are we living like ambassadors? When we meet someone who may never encounter another Christian, do they see Jesus in us? The sermon uses an analogy of watering trees—we're not responsible for the growth, but we are responsible for the watering. If we faithfully invest in the people around us, they have the opportunity to reach their full potential in Christ. This isn't about perfection; it's about proximity and persistence. We're called to proclaim the gospel boldly, trust God with our resources and fears, and bring His peace into every situation. Some people won't be ready to receive what we offer, and that's okay—our job is simply to water, not to force growth. The urgency of the message means we can't let material concerns or fear hold us back from stepping into our calling.
