Exodus 4 | Moses has been given the assignment to go back to Egypt and speak truth to power. He is to confront Pharaoh and bring the Hebrew people out of slavery and into a covenant relationship with Yahweh, the God of Israel. Yet, Moses isn't quite ready. God is now coming after him!

Exodus 4 | Yahweh, the God of Israel, has a big ask for Moses. But, Moses is full of questions and deflections. Why? Well, Like I said, it is a big ask. And, why should Moses trust Yahweh? After all, they just got introduced on a first name bases.

God Gets a Name

Exodus 3 | So far in the Story of God, God has not introduced Himself with a name. Oh, the narrator's voice has a name for God, and some of the characters have a name for God. Today, God introduces, not just a name, but a whole concept of who God is.

Moses Gets a Name

Exodus 2 - 3 | The story of the Hebrew people are oppressed and in need of rescuing. God hears their cry and is moved to compassion. But, who to call on? God is in need of a hero. God is in need of a savior. God calls on a man with half a name.

The Chaos Comes Back

Text: Exodus 1:1–2:10 Big Idea: Exodus is Israel’s identity story, retold by a people learning who they are after exile. It begins by showing that the chaos God pushed back in Genesis has returned through Pharaoh’s empire, slavery, and the Nile — but God is already preparing rescue through a baby in a tiny ark. Series Thread: God’s rescue does not begin when the powerful notice a problem. It begins quietly, faithfully, and often through overlooked people who resist chaos.
