God is always working in the world. Sometimes it's in direct response to your prayers. Even if it's not because of your prayers, its because there's something good and glorious God is doing. It ought to inspire us to be looking and be attentive. But as we'll hear on today's Hope From The Word that doesn't always happen. We're presently studying the Old Testament book of Second Kings with Pastor Bill Luebkemann. And we've come to the reign of king Jehoahaz, which was the beginning of the fulfillment of a promise made to Jehu. God promised him that his descendants would sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation. Let's get the details now from chapter thirteen. Here's Pastor Bill... 2 Kings 17

Welcome to Hope From the Word. Our teacher is Pastor Bill Luebkemann, and he is the senior pastor at Calvary Chapel of Marlton, where our broadcast originates. Currently, Pastor Bill is leading us chapter by chapter through the Old Testament book of Second Kings. Today we begin a two-part look at chapter seventeen, so turn there if you would. As we'll soon see Israel is about to do exactly what God told them not to do. They were worshipping other gods, and this idol worship provoked the Lord to anger. Through it all God continues to warn them to turn from their ways, and come back to Him. I think as you study along with us, you'll be struck by the amazing parallels with what's going on in our own country.
