FBB is an educational project embarked on a mission to prevent school disengagement in disadvantaged kids through the power of football. #05. Rhiana Galvin, Sport Performance Analyst and Talent ID Course Lead

At the half-way point of our first season, we invited Rhiana Galvin to the studio to hear about her rapid ascent to the top levels of sports performance analysis.   Having worked with the GB and Wales international hockey teams and sitting as the course lead for Sport Performance Analysis and Talent Identification at St Mary’s University, Rhiana has a brilliant insight into the world of analysis – as an academic and a pioneer.     Listen as we discuss the issue of gender in sports performance analysis, the sheer magnitude of data that is collected from today’s aspiring athletes, and the hopeful trajectory of this hidden science in the future.    ---------------------------------------- Hosted on Acast. #03. Alexander Webb, Program Director at KLABU

0ver 110 million people are currently living in refugee camps, spending an average of 17 years there. KLABU are an organization that are using sport to and instigate positive change. KLABU are one part NGO and one part clothing brand, as their funky shirts are used to generate an income for their wider charitable work to remain possible. Based in Amsterdam, they have set up ’clubhouses’ in some of the world’s largest refugee camps, bringing comfort, electricity, education, and community to their inhabitants. Their USP is sport, and their belief that sport can provide people with the catalyst to improve their wider situation. We invited Alexander Webb, KLABU's Program Director to our studio to tell us all about it. He was a friend of Arne’s at university, and has gone on to do amazing things with this fantastic organization. We hope that you enjoy our third episode! ---------------------------------------- Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy [https://acast.com/privacy] for more information.
