Hello listeners, welcome to the first episode in my podcast, It’s Not that Deep Join me today for a dumb but “tshomi, it’s actually that deep” chat on 30 seconds and the rise in anti-intellectualism In case I wasn’t articulate enough on the topic, I respect people shying away from the things happening in the world today because it can bring a sense of hopelessness and I’ve had people ask me what the point in knowing is- which is valid. And I try to bring the point home that, we lose our rights when we operate like this. If we don’t care that that specific politician looted Covid funds and it didn’t affect you directly, it will eventually affect you, even if tomorrow you have to clock in. On the topic of being an intellectual and alienating people instead of being a teacher, I have said that it’s a political ploy to have people fragmented but we can’t ignore the harms that “kleva blacks” have on classes they deem lower in their attempts to climb the class ladder. These people vote on policies that are convenient for them that would be dangerous for the vast majority of people so, at the ends of the day, the plea is to realise how shared our humanity is, how we live in an intersectional society where if one person isn’t free, we’re all not free.  With love and great hopes ☺️until next time 🌸 Minor correction: *the demonisation of African religions being a colonial import (5:45)
