Playing Behind Bars

Aaron "Showtime" Taylor is a sports announcer featured in Q-Ball, the Netflix documentary about the San Quentin warriors Basketball team. His story of calling games in the prison system has been shared on ABC, ESPN and NPR, and last November he was released from San Quentin after serving 26 years. Now Showtime is chasing his dreams as a sports announcer and MC by founding Elevated Entertainment and calling games for THE SHO and Veniceball in Los Angeles. Shortly after his injury, he was introduced to wheelchair basketball at Auburn University. Mack is now a senior on the Auburn Wheelchair Basketball team in pursuit of his second undergraduate degree. Healing Trauma Through Play

On this episode we have Alison Williams, a former professional synchronized swimmer for Team USA and 2016 Olympic alternate. She got her Bachelors’ in Sociology at UCLA where she conducted research about depression and emotional abuse in elite sport. Now she's pursuing her Master’s Degree, at UCLA, in Transformational Leadership and Coaching based on the example of the legendary John Wooden. Ali has future aspirations to develop curriculum and programing to bring people into natural bodies of water as a method to heal from trauma. NYC Streetball and Play During Quarantine

Kyle Fargardo is a New York native from Hell's Kitchen, who is currently a basketball coach with the Riverside Hawks AAU team and a JV Basketball coach at Cristo Rey New York High School in NYC. He is an ISSA-certified personal trainer and is also currently building a non-profit through sports within his community.
