Ep. 4 - Abigail Hammond - Costume is Dance, Peri-menopause and Playing with Material.

In this episode with Abigail Hammond, we discuss her roots and how she uses costume in her dance, the importance of conversation and at the end we dig into a few materials that you can begin playing with on your body. Abigail has a background in dance at Dartington College and went on to become a contributing voice in exploring dance-costume relationships within the UK. She has further explored the use of material, particularly in relation to her own body and her own story - the peri-menopause. Within this 25 minute mini-episode, I try a new format, in which I sit down and discuss three things: a thought, opportunity and exercise. I hope that these will provoke some thoughts in regards to creativity as well as give you a simple action to take right now for your artistic journey. I am Billy Maxwell Taylor, an interdisciplinary movement practitioner who facilitates creativity through curiosity, playfulness and athleticism. I also run this podcast! In this DEBUT episode (party poppers), I sit down over Zoom with Sean Hollands and we discuss how you can use gaming as a stimulus, the benefit of a disciplined and playful space and how we can work around the parameters of Covid-19.
