Mini - Clinical Intro to think

Hello - please see a mini introduction mostly on clinical practical advice and the challenge of overcoming my extreme privacy wishes in releasing the podcasts - the other discussion. As well as to consider some questions. Also yes - I eat doughnuts. Mostly life has humbled me over and over so these podcasts are an offering - there is always more to learn - the point was to learn as well (watch this shift...). Thankfully these are some of the top people in Canada who have something to say. There is also more importantly the community aspect and cultural component I wanted to include properly - recognizing the land which supported this journey. I have mostly lived worked and played on the sacred land of the Coast Salish peoples, and currently live on the unceded shared territory of the Sumas First Nation and Matsqui First Nation, who are part of the Stό:lō people. There are two other much longer introductions about the community aspect and larger picture as well as my opinions on food and food security - which will come. Please do share as you wish if you find it helpful and please know that the incredible generosity of people sharing their experiences was so appreciated - as I was learning I hope you will learn too. ---- In my work as a dietitian – I’ve noticed a lot of fear of food. It’s one of the reasons I wanted to do this trip – to remind people – and myself- that food is beautiful, amazing and can be celebrated. What blew me away – is how incredibly kind, resilient and thoughtful we are. There are so many beautiful people in this world living their BEST life, wanting the best for everyone – for you. I was comforted with the kindness I saw and the desire to make the world a BETTER place – with food at the centre, or at least a starting place. We do make a difference when we care. I love the fact that food is one of the few unifying factors that connects us all as human beings – and well technically for any living being. We all eat. We all have a strong food memory. But perhaps food can be a place where we can start talking about how we can live our best lives – even if food isn’t your thing – I hope we all can care about something as passionately as I care about you and food. ---- I am so excited to learn from you, from the food stories again, and from seeing these incredible food stories through your eyes.
