It’s more common than most people want to admit - a large percentage of Americans have experienced unwanted sexual contact as a child. If you or someone you know has had this experience, there is a path forward. A very tender, gentle, and beautiful process. As someone who has facilitated healing in this realm for 15 years, I have seen many people not only heal and recover from these traumas, but thrive and even become leaders of empowerment and liberation. In this episode, I outline some of the elements that support healing. A process of healing the body, retraining, remembering, and finally reigniting.  Of course the process begins with safety in the body, how to come to safety within your own body. And ultimately, what is broken in relationship must be healed in relationship. So once it’s safe enough, some of the healing will come in relationship with others. We no longer have rites of passage that are built into our culture to formally train us to move from childhood to adulthood. In the modern world, our entire lives are a rite of passage, a mystery school for learning and growing. We have to put together our own curriculum or program, find our own teachers and healers and helpers.  Fortunately, there are many helpers out there now. I list some options, and also invite you into my spaces which are designed for this kind of healing. What will your hero’s journey look like?
