14. The Frozen Hill People

A local reporter comes across some insane information he found in an old family journal in Vermont. Farmers, struggling in the hills beyond town, need a way to survive the winter. And so begins a bizarre family tradition meant to save on food rations. Were they really freezing their elderly and putting them into literal cold storage for the winter? Is cryonics or cannibalism more appropriate in this situation? This week's legend is: The Frozen Hill People.

Were vampires stalking small towns in New England at the turn of the 19th century? Villages were wracked by a wasting death. Friends and neighbors watched in horror as loved ones withered away. Only vampires could be responsible for such a slow, tormenting death, that turned healthy people into gaunt figures haunting their hometown. This week's legend is: The Consumption of Mercy Brown.

12. The Demons of Dudleytown

An abandoned Connecticut village is said to be plagued by vanishings, ghosts, and unexplained mysteries. Occasionally referred to as the Village of the Damned, some people believe the infertile land and stories of insanity are caused by a curse on the Dudley family. Nestled within Chester County, Pennsylvania is a set of tunnels where you may hear a crying baby or footsteps in the next tunnel over after dark. Further down the road is the site of a property with a dark past where you may be chased by hooded figures in the woods at night.
