Mel H Buffalo - Orange Shirt Day re-release
Re-release of this chat with my late-dad from July 2021 where we talked Sports, Residential School, and Treaty. As we reflect on what Sept 30 means I think back to my dad's experience and I couldn't think of a better way to add to the conversation then to re-share his words.
Myc Sharratt: Music, Hockey, and growing up in Nanaimo
I sat down with a good friend Myc Sharratt. This one is a bit different than other episodes as there is a lot of familiarity and banter between us. I wanted to get Myc on to discuss some daily acts of resurgence through art and sport and it's great to see how far he's come as a musician. As two half-breeds coming up together in hockey, school, and in the same neighborhood we naturally became good friends, and we reflect on some of these experiences some 20 years later. Myc recently performed a concert with his band and a dozen members of the Vancouver Island Symphony and I can honestly say it was one of the best performances I've ever seen. You can check his music out on Spotify and YouTube http://mycsharratt.com https://open.spotify.com/artist/3EzuyvZjTVniGM7ujTvHwf?si=W3VTuwhhQluMmI-fxsNoNw
