In the first part of the show, Mark talks with Bill Stenson from Radio Amateurs of the Gorge about their upcoming field day on June 27 from noon to 9 p.m. at the Westside Fire training grounds adjacent to the Rockford Grange on 4250 Barrett Drive in Hood River,  and the importance of amateur radio in emergency preparedness. Then area orchardist and Oregon Sweet Cherry Commission Chair Ian Chandler gives an update on the status of this year's cherry harvest, and talks about a Columbia Gorge Fruit Growers committee looking at whether a U.S. Department of Agriculture marketing order would benefit cherry growers.
