M.I.P is joined by Atlantys Royel, a Molecular Scientist, a vegetarian, a car lover, an astrologist, and single mother of one cute 3 year old named Zari. Atlantys starts her story by telling us the nuances of choices - what it really means to “leave the door open”, and how leaving the door open to an option is, itself, making a choice. She wasn’t quite looking to be a mother, but she kept the door open. Halfway through her pregnancy, she became a single mom, and jolted straight into survival mode and how that manifested in her life. In this episode, we learn how Atlantys has navigated single motherhood and how often single mothers aren’t allowed to just “be”. She shares how she took advantage of scientific journals (not google) to teach herself about pregnancy, labor, and birth…which might explain why she had Gucci shades on during her labor.

M.I.P. is joined by Janessa and Jayla, two single women in their early thirties contemplating motherhood and what that might look like for them at this point in their lives. Outside of the struggle searching for a committed relationship, they both found out that they had debilitating fibroids that needed surgical removal. They share the 4+ year journey of discovering their fibroids, fumbling through multiple doctors for help, and surgery - which was eerily reminiscent of a C-section. Janessa and Jayla share this journey, how they got through it, and what they face on their unique paths to motherhood.

Motherhood in Progress is joined by Caitlin Love. Caitlin shares with us how finding the love of her life transformed her and launched her into motherhood. Throughout her journey, we learn how she lets “love lead the way” from conversations about raising your child, overcoming the difficulties of pregnancy, and through planning and delivering a child. Caitlin is a self-proclaimed “stay-at-home-mom” (SAHM) that does everything but stay at home.
