I'm in Noosa and enjoying the rainy views from my balcony. Hot balmy days are best followed by rainy cool nights. The east coast of Australia has perfectly idyllic summer rains to lull you into an easy relaxation.

An Ocean Liner SoundScape, South Pacific Ocean

Onboard an ocean liner, sailing at 25•34.51’S and 158•56.35’E… in other-words, somewhere between the shores of eastern Australia and the beautiful Vanuatu and New Caledonia. It’s pretty windy and the sea is putting on a beautiful display of whitecaps. The sun is peaking through some clouds and you are snuggled up, sitting on your private balcony, your eyes gently close and you allow the sound of the ocean lull you into deep relaxation.

A Pebble Beach SoundScape, Cyprus

A complete Pebble Beach Soundscape, Cyprus. Close your eyes and picture yourself sitting on a pebble beach in the beautiful Mediterranean island of Cyprus. You have nowhere that you need to be and have nothing that you need to worry about. Children are laughing and playing further up the beach. The sun is warm on your skin. The smell of salt is in the air. A light breeze touches your body. And you hear the rhythmic sounds of the pebbles being pulled and pushed by the gentle waves lapping along the shoreline, lulling you into a calm sleep. This soundscape was recorded in an area of Cyprus called Latchi. Latchi is situated on the northern end of Paphos and is a little off the tourist track which is perfect if you want to escape for a bit. Take a picnic for the day, or buy lunch at one of the local restaurants in the area. It is a perfect spot to sit, relax and luxuriate in a moment of bliss. The actual spot that I recorded the soundscape is top secret, but every beach in the area is perfect in it's only little way and each has it's own brand of charm. Rent an umbrella and sunbed or take your own towel and share the beach with locals or if you are lucky enough, have it all to yourself.
