Ep. 7: Paula Kay on Her Full-Circle Career

On today’s Off the Floor, we talk to New York State Assemblymember Paula Kay of District 100, which contains parts of Sullivan and Orange County. Having started her career in law in order to work in government, Paula now considers it a happy irony that she uses her position in the Assembly to help create laws. Pair that with stories from her time as an ice hockey captain and witnessing the aftermath of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, and this is truly a conversation worth tuning in for.

Lovingly called "Judge" by his colleagues, Angelo has had a long and varied career fighting for noble causes, whether it be serving in the Vietnam War, in the courts as a state judge, or in the chamber of the Assembly. We were lucky enough to catch him before he retires after this session, and he had plenty to say on the state of criminal justice and being part of the Assembly minority.
