Kuvaus

Ryan just returned from Sandals Ochi in Jamaica, and we are giving you the real review. In this episode, we talk about the airport transfer from Montego Bay, Club MoBay, private transfers, the Seaside and Hillside areas, the beach, pools, food, restaurant reservations, drinks, rooms, robes, and The Rabbit Hole speakeasy. Sandals Ochi has a lot to love, but it is not the right fit for every traveler. If you are considering a Sandals vacation, this episode will help you understand what to expect before you book. Thinking about booking Sandals Ochi in Jamaica? Ryan just stayed there, and in this episode of One Slice at a Time, we are talking through the full experience. Sandals Ochi is an adults-only all-inclusive resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. It has a large resort layout, several different areas, lots of dining options, plenty of bars, a beach area with great shade, and one very memorable hidden speakeasy-style lounge. But before you start picturing yourself with a mudslide in hand, there are a few things you need to know. First, the transfer matters. Many travelers fly into Montego Bay, and Sandals Ochi is not right next door to the airport. Ryan talks about why his group booked a private transfer, what that cost looked like for four people, and why it was worth it for their situation. We also talk about Club MoBay and why it can make both arrival and departure day feel much easier. Then we get into the resort itself. Ryan explains the difference between the Seaside area, Hillside area, and Ochi Beach Club area, plus how The Hop shuttle helps guests move around the property. If you are trying to decide whether to stay Seaside or Hillside, this part of the episode is especially helpful. We also talk about the beach, pools, food, restaurant reservations, breakfast buffet strategy, bars, custom drink tips, The Rabbit Hole, the minibar, twice-daily room service, robes, and of course, Ryan’s Crusty Review of the pizza. This is not a brochure-style review. It is the real “what would we do again, what should you know first, and who is this resort best for?” conversation. If you are planning a honeymoon, anniversary trip, adults-only vacation, or first Sandals stay, this episode will help you decide whether Sandals Ochi belongs on your shortlist. Key Takeaways * Sandals Ochi is in Ocho Rios, so the airport transfer is a major part of the arrival day. * A private transfer may be worth it if you value comfort, speed, or are traveling with older guests. * Club MoBay can make the Jamaica airport experience smoother on arrival and departure. * Sandals Ochi is spread out, with Seaside, Hillside, and Ochi Beach Club areas. * Ryan would personally choose Seaside again because of the beach and pool access. * The Hop shuttle makes it easy to move around the resort. * The beach is not huge, but the natural shade was a major win. * Four restaurants require reservations: French, Italian, hibachi, and Kelly’s Dockside. * Book the French restaurant early if possible. * The Rabbit Hole is a standout after-dinner spot. * The minibar, housekeeping, and turndown service added to the resort feel. * Ryan found the pizza acceptable, especially by poolside pizza standards. Want help choosing the right Sandals resort? Stephanie and Ryan help travelers compare rooms, resort layouts, transfers, dining, beach style, and overall fit. Reach out before you book so you end up at the resort that matches the vacation you actually want. bookings@oneslicepod.com https://linktr.ee/onesliceatatime [https://linktr.ee/onesliceatatime] oneslicepod.com [https://www.oneslicepod.com] ExtraCheese.Fun [https://www.extracheese.fun]

In this episode of One Slice at a Time, Stephanie and Ryan start a three-part air travel series with a practical look at modern airfare. But airfare also includes rules, restrictions, baggage policies, seat access, boarding order, change terms, refund rules, and recovery options if something goes wrong. We talk about: – Why there is no magic Tuesday booking rule  – Why airfare prices can change so quickly  – The difference between booked and ticketed  – Why group airfare pricing gets complicated  – What basic economy really means  – Why basic economy can be a bad fit for families  – Why nonstop and direct flights are not the same thing  – How short connections can create major problems  – Why international trips need more connection buffer  – What codeshares mean for travelers  – Why skiplagging can create serious risks  – How travel advisors think through flights for cruises, tours, groups, and major vacations  – The questions you should ask before booking airfare Ryan also reviews room service pizza from Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale and gives it a surprisingly solid score.
