Kuvaus

Today’s episode will be about Mount Tabor. A distinctive mountain in Northern Israel that has a dome shape. After a short Introduction to Mount Tabor 01:00, the episode will have four sections that cover the following issues:  1)        Geography & Location 03:49 2)        Mount Tabor in the Old Testament 06:10. The mountain here is described in historical events (Josh 19: 12,22,34; Judg 4) and as a symbol of power (Jer. 46:18; Ps. 89:12). A map that shows Mount Tabor as a meeting point of three tribes’ borders:  https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c2/12_Tribes_of_Israel_Map.svg [https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c2/12_Tribes_of_Israel_Map.svg] 3)        Mount Tabor in Christianity: The Transfiguration 13:00 (Matt. 17:1-4) 4)        Mount Tabor Today 17:21 The last part will discuss the biblical message of the Transfiguration 20:15 (Matt. 17; Ex. 24, 34). For those want to read more about the correlation between the OT and the NT texts I recommend Richard B. Hays book: Echoes of Scripture in the Gospels (Baylor University Press. Kindle Edition.)
