Sana Sana
What does a life of service look like to you? For many of us in the Latina community, it means giving up everything we are for the good of others. That can mean burning yourself out, ignoring your health, and giving up your personal dreams to take care of others. We were taught that that is a very noble way of living. But in actuality, it’s causing us unnecessary harm. You don’t need to choose between yourself and a life of service. So many of us are called to serve, whether for our families, our countries, or others. But that doesn’t mean you have to harm yourself to do a good job at serving. Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it's that you cannot pour from an empty cup. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about how I live a life of service without self-sacrificing (again). I say again because I did self-sacrifice, a lot. To the point where I developed stage 3 breast cancer and didn’t even know it. No one would ask me to give up my health in order to serve my family or my country, but I did anyway, and I won’t be doing it again. Tune in for a deep dive into my career in service and how I honor my calling to service without self-sacrifice. Again.
