Episode 6: Damn, Girl- Break Your Head Open with Emily Rose

Hey dolls! Welcome to another episode of Successfully Struggling with Mandy Godbee. On this episode of Successfully Struggling, Emily and I talk about pregnancy, hospital birth, home birth, natural birth, being a parent, a black sheep and how incredible the female body truly is. We touch on bi-racial and adopted family ties and their affect on our lives. We also touch on trauma, addiction, life/death and conditioned experiences. Emily Rose is a chiropractor, pregnancy/birth educator, fight wife, as well as, a free range kid mom. We have been friends since high school and were soul sisters immediately. I continue to learn fascinating information from this soft, strong, yet intelligent woman who lives a life most couldn't imagine. Enjoy informative banter as a couple of homegirls catch up and share stories and experiences. Check out Emily's podcast with her and husband/UFC flyweight fighter Victor. Episode 2: We need Pride Month now more than ever.

Happy pride month! On this episode of Successfully Struggling, my "gusband" and I discuss what Pride Month means to us & how we transitioned from fear to confidence about who we are as individuals scrutinized by society for being gay. From coming out to family to being outed by a "friend," we discuss the trials of being our truest self. This episode includes our experiences, perspectives & perceptions of the events we've experienced, as well as, the world that judges around us. Pride Month was not created to shove gay rights in any ones face, but rather to have equal rights as human beings in an unfair world. Whether you are gay or straight, it is important to respect others no matter how different their beliefs may be from yours.
