Dr. Smith discusses this school year’s Level Up initiative – the challenges and goals he gave our principals, teachers, and students to truly Level Up their leadership. Sitting down to reflect on the year is Truth Ramsey, a senior at Dulles High School and a member of the superintendent Student Voices group. Also, in the discussion is Susanna Jakubik, CCMR Advisor at Ridge Point High School to discuss the many ways she prepares high schoolers for college and beyond.

We're right in the middle of our Fall sports season, and Dr. Smith kicks off the podcast by talking sports, and what athletics brings to the student experience. Joining him is Coach David Jackson of Crawford High School to reflect on his first season with the Crawford Chargers, what he is continuing to build this season as well as instill in his student athletes. Jennifer Vaughn, P.E. teacher at Sartartia Middle School, joins the discussion to talk about the pilot program of Partner P.E. and the importance of play and athletics in all FBISD students.

S2E1 - Leveling Up Our Leadership!

Kicking off the second season of the podcast, Dr. Smith sits down with Fort Bend ISD's brand new Chief of Police, Chief Anthony Sanders. Get to know Chief Sanders as he discusses his vision for the department, gives an overview of safety measurements taking place across the district, and even a little bit of his personal authorship. Also, on the podcast is principal of Sugar Mill Elementary, Ms. Jaimie Geis, to talk about how her campus saw a drastic increase in their accountability ratings. She will talk about how the district supported her, what changes she implemented that helped, and last but not least she will have a message for parents.

As the 89th session of the Texas Legislature continues, Dr. Smith sits down with Fort Bend ISD’s Board President Kristin Tassin and Board Vice President Rick Garcia to discuss the importance of advocacy and leadership for our school district.
