Kuvaus

In this episode of the Sustained Collaboration podcast, I talk with Nico Leone, President and CEO of KERA - North Texas Public Broadcasting [https://www.linkedin.com/in/brittani-trusty/], about Arts Access. Arts Access is a joint project of KERA and Dallas Morning News [https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-dallas-morning-news/].  The partnership not only allowed the two news organizations to cover equity in the arts but helped them secure funding from new donors. Asset transfers as a strategic social impact tool

In this episode, we talk about asset transfers. Asset transfers occur when a nonprofit gifts part or all of its assets to another organization. In this episode, we feature three conversations. The episode begins with a conversation with Laura Solomon [https://www.linkedin.com/in/laurasolomonesq/], Founder of Laura Solomon & Associates [https://laurasolomonesq.com/]. The conversation focuses on the legal aspects of an asset transfer. Next, we turn to a story of a specific asset transfer between Uplift Solutions [https://upliftsolutions.org/] and the Share Food Program [https://www.sharefoodprogram.org/]. George Matysik [https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgematysik/], executive director of the Share Food Program, joins the podcast to talk about how this asset transfer became an incubator for innovation at the Share Food Program. Finally, we tell the story of another asset transfer. This time, Michelle Freridge [https://www.linkedin.com/in/michelle-freridge-048b2736/], executive director of the Asian Youth Center [https://www.aycla.org/], describes how she sought an asset transfer to encourage culture change. DVBEDS: An alliance supporting domestic violence survivors

In this episode, I talk with  Paige Flink [https://www.linkedin.com/in/paige-flink-2509416/], former CEO and board member of The Family Place [https://www.linkedin.com/company/thefamilyplace/], and Suzanne Smith [https://www.linkedin.com/in/suzannesmithtx/] of Social Impact Architects. They share the story of DVBeds and discuss how alliances can offer better-shared services to clients through coordination.  DVBeds is a network of independent domestic violence shelters in Texas. Under a systems alignment theory of change, the program aligns the capacities of the organizations to serve the most individuals and families. The network records real-time bed availability and ensures a warm handoff so that domestic violence survivors don’t have to call a list of shelters to find safety.
