5: Innovation in the East Midlands: Our impact

In July our latest Impact Report (2025–2026) was published showcasing how we are supporting the NHS to improve patient outcomes, and accelerate the adoption of innovation across the East Midlands and beyond. The report outlines how HIEM continues to play a vital role as part of England’s Health Innovation Network, helping health and care organisations to identify, test and scale innovative solutions to meet some of the NHS’s most pressing challenges. 4: Reimagining Risk: A whole system opportunity

This episode explores research from the Midlands Clinical Senate examining how risk is perceived and managed across individual, organisational and system levels. 3: How can innovation support neighbourhood health models to thrive?

This episode explores the role of health innovation networks as catalysts for enabling innovation and collaborative working, using the SISU project in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, enabled by HIEM, as a real-world example. 2: NHS entrepreneurship and how to get it right

This episode features Tim Robinson, Health Innovation East Midlands Commercial Director, in conversation with Caroline Palmer, Clinical Lead, and David Williams, Group Director of Strategy and Business Development at Leicester Partnership NHS Trust. Together, they share the story of ChatHealth – one of the most successful examples of NHS entrepreneurship in the past decade. In the podcast, the speakers discuss ChatHealth’s journey along the innovation pathway -from an initial clinical insight through to national adoption and commercialisation. Health Innovation East Midlands will be offering support to 12 regional sites to help maternity staff to better identify signs that the baby is in distress during labour so they can act quickly - helping to prevent lifelong conditions like cerebral palsy.
