The Bonafide Man Podcast
In this episode of A Moment in Church History, Marty McLain recounts how the Viking leader Rollo helped shape the rise of Normandy: after years of raids in France, Rollo negotiated with King Charles the Simple to receive the region, marry the king’s daughter, and nominally submit to Christian rule. Though Rollo’s own conversion appears mixed with lingering devotion to Norse gods, his son William I and grandson Richard I more firmly established Christianity in Normandy, helping transform the former Norse settlers into a Christian French realm over later generations.
