When “I’m Fine” Is Not the Truth: Understanding Fawn Mode

Have you ever said, “I’m fine,” when you were not fine at all? Maybe you said it to keep the peace, avoid conflict, prevent someone from being disappointed, or protect the relationship. On the outside, you looked calm, agreeable, helpful, and easygoing. But inside, you felt hurt, overwhelmed, resentful, lonely, unseen, or afraid to tell the truth.
