The Early Sessions
Session 393: Ghostly Wisdom and Time Loops Recorded on February 14, 1968, this session is a bit of a remix, featuring notes from an ESP class on December 28, 1967, and a full-blown class session from February 8, 1968. This isn't just dry philosophy; it’s a cosmic family reunion. Seth (channeled by Jane Roberts) spent this time dropping truth bombs on a room full of students in a loud, energy-filled apartment in Elmira, New York. The Ultimate Lesson: No Such Thing as Death One of the most moving parts of this session involves Audrey Shepherd, whose adopted son had recently drowned. Seth reveals that this wasn't their first rodeo together. In a past life, he was her biological son who died in an accident. He came back specifically to show her that the soul doesn't just "poof" out of existence. * The Purpose of Return: Seth notes, "He came back to tell you there was no death—you would not listen, hear or believe... This time he came back and was a son to you... This time you are listening." * The Water Connection: In a past life, the boy was a sailor who died in a shipwreck off the coast of Spain. He loved water, calling it the "Mother of All Earth." * A Final Farewell: This was his last reincarnation. He chose to leave when Audrey would "miss him most and question most," because that pain would drive her to find the ultimate answers about existence. Past Life Receipts: "I Remember You" Seth has a funny way of making people realize they’re much older than they look. During the February 8th class, he started pointing fingers and calling out past lives like he was reading a cosmic yearbook. * Connie's Diphtheria Scare: Seth identified Connie as a young boy in 16th-century Denmark (where Seth himself once lived as a spice merchant). The boy died at age nine of diphtheria. Spookily, Connie admitted she had a lifelong, unexplained fear of that exact disease. * Lydia’s Maine Connection: Seth pegged Lydia as a man named "Son-of-the-Northern Willows" (Rakes) living near Bangor, Maine, in 1832. Lydia, stunned, confirmed she grew up in Bangor and had always felt an intense, irrational attachment to the state. * Jean’s "Chicanery": Seth didn't hold back on Jean, mentioning past lives in Mesopotamia, Egypt, and China where she "misused" psychic abilities for "chicanery" and profit. He also noted a distant connection to Joan of Arc. Jean later confessed she’d been nicknamed "Joan of Arc" in school and had a massive fear of fire. Reality Check: Time is a Total Illusion If you think you’re running late for work, Seth would tell you to relax—time doesn't actually exist. He explains that our physical senses are just very limited filters that distort reality into a linear line. * The Simultaneous Now: Seth explains, "Everything in the universe exists at one time, simultaneously, and the first words ever spoken still ring throughout the universe." * The Dream Analogy: To understand reincarnation, Seth suggests imagining you are having seven dreams at once. To the dreamer, no time has passed, even if 100 years pass within the dream. * The "Whole Self": There is a part of you—the inner personality—that isn't trapped in this 3D "time" box and knows all your lives at once. Study the Source If you want to get your mind truly blown, you’ve got to read the full text.
