Overcoming Race Anxiety and Finding Love for the Sport: Anna Hart

Anna Hart is a long time friend and phenomenal D1 athlete for Brigham Young University. The thing I found most unique about Anna's story is her journey to loving the sport and how it wasn't as simple as it is for some others. So much to learn from her. I love this episode! I hope you do as well!! * Made first-career indoor nationals appearance in 2023 with women's distance medley relay squad. * Helped DMR squad to school record and national-qualifying time of 10:49.24 at the Arkansas Qualifier on Feb. 17.  * Ranked No. 9 all-time at BYU with 54.79 performance in the women's indoor 400-meters at the Ken Shannon Last Chance Invitational in Seattle on Feb. 25.  * Helped 4x400-meter squad to school record of 3:39.15 at the Razorback Invitational on Jan. 28.

Obsession in Sport Isn't the Key: Tom Golightly

I have always believed that obsession for a sport and working harder than anyone else was the answer to success in sports. Where there is value in that, there is a better way to do it and hard work isn't always the answer. This interview was enlightening, showing how we can win without running ourselves into the ground. Golightly is the Assistant Director - Athletics for BYU Counseling and Psychological Services. Golightly is responsible for treating a variety of mental health issues in order to help student-athletes remove any obstacles preventing successful academic and sport performance. He conducts individual, couples and group therapy for student-athletes. He also teaches Performance Psychology and Contemporary Issues for Student-athletes at BYU.
