Ben Charles interviews the jazz saxophonist Jasmine Myra to talk about her album, "Where Light Settles," coming off her album debuting at number one on the UK Jazz and Blues Albums in May of 2026. Ben asks Jasmine Myra about her reaction to her album showing up at number one on the charts and the reaction she had when people responded positively to the album. Ben also asks about her 2024 album Rising compared to her 2026 album, Where Light Settles. Ben then asks Jasmine about how she became inspired in preparation for the creative process of Where Light Settles. Jasmine gives her perspectives on how she creates the music and why the music has a deeper meaning to her. Jasmine also mentions a few musicians who inspired her to make music that is on Where Light Settles. Ben goes through almost the entire album with Jasmine Myra, during which Jasmine provides a unique perspective on each song, including Some Rain Must Fall, Echo, Fragments, Likeness and Shadow, and In an Instant. Jasmine then shares her thoughts on the future of jazz, as well as the new music she may release. Jasmine also talks about the landscape of albums and music all over the world, as well as the idea of the album being something like a movie. In this episode of the Musical Circle, Ben Charles interviews members of the London band Yuuf, who are Hugo, the guitarist and Oliver (Oli) who is the drummer. The band gives out their origin story while also talking about how the band finally formed into a strong quartet. Ben asks the band about their creative process and mindset towards not only recording music but also releasing the music to the public. Ben also asks Yuuf about how the song Silky Spring and a YouTube Live Session in the forest finally gave them recognition. Yuuf explains how the viral video happened and how it was set up. Yuuf also gives an origin story on how their 2024 EP In The Sun came out and the reaction they received from it. Yuuf explains the reaction they get from international audiences and the differences between international audiences and those in the United States. Yuuf talks about how they met Ben and the story of how Ben interacted with the band itself. Yuuf also explained why they liked Ben to begin with, as they both share different music tastes. Ben also asks the band Yuuf about their songs Alma's Cove, Iman, Calima, Mesa Mesa, Moon Dive, and Night Air, and the process that went into all of these songs. Yuuf also reveals their music collection, and the different kinds of music they listen to, not only while they travel but also while they create new songs.
