My personal journey Four years after breast cancer treatment, new neuropathic pain sent me back for scans and straight into the arms of Dr Google. The scans were clear. The internet, however, had already diagnosed me with absolute confidence and a pile of questionable citations. This stop takes on medical misinformation by search engine, the story that “cannabis cures cancer”, the rise of the Armchair Oncologist, and why personal experience is not the same as clinical evidence. It also comes with one very simple message: check yourselves, and if something changes, get it checked. Lucky No. 7, Fkg Organ Donor and The Donkey Cart

Three stops, three different flavours of nonsense. Sian looks at Andy Burnham as Britain’s possible Lucky No. 7. Not a political saviour, but perhaps someone capable of dragging drug policy, medical cannabis, harm reduction and unnecessary criminalisation towards something resembling common sense. Then it is time for Feckin Organ Donor, featuring the motorcyclists who treat speed limits, road markings and basic self-preservation as optional extras. Finally, The Donkey Cart looks at governments trying to keep pace with fast-moving technology, medicine and public opinion while dragging policy behind them at the speed of a tired mule. Process First, Questions Later

This episode on the Never Ending Carousel of Cannabis Nonsense takes a hard look at what happens when systems become more interested in protecting themselves than delivering outcomes. First, we tackle one of the most persistent myths in medical cannabis: that doctors are afraid of being struck off for prescribing cannabis medicines to children. A serious claim. One small problem. Nobody seems able to find the doctor. Then we turn our attention to the endless cry for "more evidence". At what point does caution become paralysis? How long can children and families be expected to wait while committees, colleges and institutions continue searching for certainty in a profession that has never had any? Finally, after watching the final episode of Clarkson's Farm, we ask a simple question. How did a healthy heifer carrying twins end up being slaughtered on suspicion of disease, only for the post-mortem to show no evidence of TB? More importantly, why does modern Britain seem increasingly comfortable with process, procedure and paperwork taking priority over getting the right answer? Three stops. One common theme. When systems stop asking whether they are right and become obsessed with proving they followed the process. 50th Episode Trailer - Process First, Questions Later

Episode 50 of the Never Ending Carousel of Cannabis Nonsense lands this Friday, 19th June, at noon UK time. Not bad going since May 2025, especially considering the carousel should have broken down, caught fire, or been confiscated by a regulator by now. This one is called Process First, Questions Later, and it is a cheerful little tour through Britain’s favourite national hobby: following procedure while missing the bloody point. Three stops. One theme. The process was followed. Shame about the outcome. Better the devil...

Makerfield has entered the chat. In this episode of The Never Ending Carousel of Cannabis Nonsense, we take a sharp turn through the revolving doors of Number 10, where by-elections, leadership threats, Brexit hangovers and the UK-EU SPS agreement all collide in one glorious Westminster pile-up. From Cameron’s referendum gamble to May’s impossible clean-up job, Boris’s bluster, Truss’s lettuce-speed premiership, Sunak’s managed decline and Starmer’s beige competence, this is a brutal look at what happens when political instability becomes regulatory instability. And, as usual, cannabis gets caught in the machinery. Medical cannabis may be legal, but patients are still fighting access barriers. CBD is still trapped in regulatory fog. Hemp is still treated like a suspicious object instead of an agricultural opportunity. And now SPS alignment may bring yet another layer of uncertainty for businesses already exhausted by process, delay and political drift. Better the devil you don’t know? Or have we already seen enough of the devil we do?
