Kuvaus

Some things just have to be talked about. Join us for a spiritually charged conversation to discuss the complex theme of humanity in light of recent events, particularly the assassination of political figure Charlie Kirk. While we shed light on the recent mass shootings in Minnesota and Colorado, it is time that we emphasize the importance of community, empathy, and understanding in a world often divided by our political beliefs. We call for compassion and love, urging listeners to reflect on their humanity and the need for constructive dialogue, regardless of differing opinions. Lastly, we turn our hearts towards God and conclude with a heartfelt prayer for unity and healing.

Ep 17: Birthing While Black: A Conversation on Black Maternal Health

Today, we welcome the multi-talented Ms. Ashly Emile, to lead us in the ongoing conversation about Black maternal health. We explore the historical context, current challenges, and the importance of community engagement in addressing healthcare disparities. Ashly shares her personal experiences and insights from her research on Black maternal health, including the Black Maternal Health Momnibus Act. The question: how can we emphasize the need for support, education, and advocacy for Black women? The Kira Johnson Act leads us to also highlight the role of Black men in this movement. Lastly, we conclude with a call to action for listeners to engage in meaningful discussions and support initiatives that promote health equity while fighting these disparities in creative ways that make hard conversations, into more peaceful scenarios in our world. You matter. Black women matter. Black History matters. Always.
