Intermission
I'm taking a wee break this week due to some other responsibilities that took up my time for podcasting. I hope to have an episode ready for you next week! In the meantime: - Check out some images of the mascot, old and new, at theregimentpodcast.blogspot.com. I’d love for you to leave a comment there and get some discussion going! - Leave a review on Apple Podcasts! - Share a memory or a question via voice message at anchor.fm/theregiment. I'll see you next week!

The Space Between Us
Time to Retire the Rebel?
Since 1966, at the height of the Civil Rights Movement, a high school in rural northwest Indiana voted to make their mascot the Rebel. Join me as I dig deeper into what may have motivated this decision and what its impact has been ever since. In this first episode, you'll hear from Brandon Storey, who authored the most recent petition to retire the Rebel only a week after protests were sparked around the globe following George Floyd's murder by a white police officer.
