Home Minister Amit Shah today moved the resolution to revoke Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, in Lok Sabha. He also introduced Jammu and Kashmir (Reorganisation) Bill, 2019 in the Lower House of Parliament. A resolution removing the special status of the state under Article 370 was approved by the Rajya Sabha on Monday. Shortly after Amit Shah tabled a resolution to this effect in Rajya Sabha, President Ram Nath Kovind came out with a notification— The Constitution (Application to Jammu and Kashmir) Order, 2019 that will come into force immediately.
