Three Months On: Life After the NC500 Attempt
Three months after her North Coast 500 attempt, Sara Eydmann reflects on what happens after a big goal doesn’t go to plan. She shares honestly about the post-event dip, losing her spark with running, and the challenges of rebuilding while living with AuDHD. In this episode, Sara explores: * The emotional aftermath of missing a huge goal * Returning to running when it no longer feels like her * Filling the gap with new projects, from her business to launching a run club * Why her mantra has become: trust the process, don’t fear the outcome This is an episode for anyone who has faced the “what now?” after chasing something big, and is learning to keep moving forward in the messy middle.
The final day of the North Coast 500
In this deeply personal episode, I share the story of the day my challenge came to an unexpected end. It’s a raw reflection on pain, pride, and the internal battles that unfold when things don’t go to plan. I open up about the physical and emotional toll of endurance, the moment I had to let go, and the strength it takes to stop. This isn’t the story I wanted to tell, but it’s one I needed to. If you’ve ever wrestled with the weight of your own expectations, this one’s for you.
Day 3 of the North Coast 500 attempt
Sara talks about the strong start to day 3, which quickly became a day of mental and physical battles. An honest account of the challenges that come with ultra running and autism.
Day 2 of the North Coast 500 Attempt
Day 1 of the North Coast 500 Attempt
Kicking off my attempt to run the entire North Coast 500, Day 1 starts long before sunrise with very little sleep, a lot of rain, and some stunning sights. I talk through the early nerves, the plan (and loo schedule), settling into the 26:4 rhythm, and how special Bealach Na’ Bà is to me . Expect wind, sheep-related distractions, and a day that went nearly all to plan.
