Episode 71 - Students for a Day

Erik and I sit in on a second year Directing course at SAIT taught by Jonathan Joffe. We get driven to school by the most interesting cab driver in the world Ishtiaq Seestani. We discuss his film Blink of an Eye which is being screened at the NexGen International Short Film Festival, Stockholm City Film Festival, Luleå International Film Festival, and Sweden Film Awards. Raiden tries to get Erik and him casted in his next film. We do a SPOLIERS review of Obsession. Go see it, it’s good. We talk a bit about the future but then wrap it up. Stay safe. Stay strong.

Episode 68 - politics and mental health with Bill Smith of Mental Wealth Today

Bill Smith is a former firefighter and lawyer, who ran for Mayor of Calgary in 2017 against incumbent Naheed Nenshi. He ran on fiscal conservatism, lower taxes, and better leadership at City Hall. He finished second in the election with about 44% of the vote. He is also a member of the Vanier Cup winning 1988 University of Calgary Dino’s football team. Bill speaks candidly with Raiden and Erik about his history of work, life, and politics. Bill shares about his mental health journey, depression and anxiety, and the long road to recovery. We’d like to thank Bill for speaking so openly about his journey. A difficult, and at times harrowing, journey but one that we are very proud and grateful to share on this platform.
